Dolphins defensive coordinator Coyle to return next season

MIAMI (AP) - Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin has decided to retain defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle for a fourth season in 2015.

Coyle's job was in considered in jeopardy after a late-season collapse by his unit. In the final four games, Miami gave up 28, 41, 35 and 37 points.

The aging defense ranked 20th in the NFL in points allowed, compared with seventh and 11th in the first two seasons under Philbin and Coyle.

Significant changes in player personnel are expected, with Miami seeking upgrades at defensive tackle, linebacker and cornerback.
