Pro personnel director Kevin Turks no longer with Bears

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - The Chicago Bears have parted with director of pro personnel Kevin Turks.

The Bears confirmed Tuesday that Turks is no longer with the team after spending the past two years in that role. He joined the organization in 2001, starting as an intern for a year before serving as a pro scout from 2002 to 2008 and assistant director of pro personnel from 2008 to 2012.

The Bears are in transition after going 5-11 and missing the playoffs for the seventh time in eight years, costing general manager Phil Emery and coach Marc Trestman their jobs. Chicago hired Ryan Pace out of New Orleans' front office as GM. The Bears are still looking for a coach.
