Be charitable toward creatures great and small

Our region is blessed to be replete with many exemplary animal welfare organizations staffed by compassionate, talented and dedicated employees and volunteers who do their best to rescue, rehabilitate, house and ultimately find good homes for animals. This includes PAWS Chicago, The Anti-Cruelty Society, Save A Pet, the Hooved Animal Humane Society and the Hooved Animal Rescue and Protection Society. They tirelessly work to save abandoned, neglected and mishandled dogs, cats, horses, ponies, rabbits and other companion animals.

Adopting a pet or making a donation to any of these or similar animal organizations is a good deed that will genuinely be fulfilling and appreciated. We should care deeply about animals during the cold weather months and throughout the year because they are our fellow sentient beings and creatures of God.
