St. Luke's Bottle Band performs Jan. 17, in Schaumburg

St. Luke's Bottle Band will perform at the Prairie Center for the Arts on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Bringing new meaning to the term garage band, the costumed mirthful musicians from St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Park Ridge pop, strike, and blow into a variety of bottles (adding a few unconventional instruments in the mix) to create joyful renditions of the William Tell Overture, music from Harry Potter, the Liberty Bell March (for all you Monty Python fans) and other unlikely compositions. Founded in 1979 by Professor Paul Phillips, the Bottle Band has been heard on National Public Radio, the NBC Nightly News, Wild Chicago, America's Got Talent and (twice!) on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Tickets for St. Luke's Bottle Band, $20 ($18 seniors and students), can be ordered online at www.prairiecenter.org or by calling 847-895-3600. The Prairie Center is located at 201 Schaumburg Ct., Schaumburg, IL.
