Two programs Mark Frank Sinatra's 100th

Fremont Public Library in Mundelein will host two programs in January to mark the 100th anniversary of Frank Sinatra's birth.

"The Swinging, Controversial Life of Frank Sinatra" will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 7:00 p.m.One of the most charismatic and controversial American entertainers of all time, Frank Sinatra sang with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey big bands and became a huge screen idol. But his road to stardom was bumpy and his career had many ups and downs. On the occasion of his 100th birthday in 2015, Master storyteller Barry Bradford traces the biography of Sinatra's improbable life with video clips, amazing anecdotes, and insightful analysis.

"Sinatra on Film" on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 7:00 p.m., showcases the greatest cinematic moments of the "Chairman of the Board."

We'll see young Frank make hearts melt in the musicals that the world fell in love with and experience a more mature Sinatra in the movies that capitalized on his legendary cool. Film historian Steven Frenzel will also share some hilarious Sinatra stories. Registration is required for both programs.
