Naperville man recieves presidential pardon

A Naperville man convicted in 1989 of commodities fraud and wire fraud received one of the 12 pardons issued Wednesday by President Barack Obama.

Brian E. Sledz, now 54, was a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange when he pleaded guilty to the charges.

The pardon calls for one year of probation conditioned on payment of $1,318 for costs of supervision and $8,297.91 restitution.

Sledz could not immediately be reached for comment.

Obama also issued eight commutations, mostly applied to low-level drug offenders.
