True progressives not found in Springfield

Progressive is a word wrongly used to describe some Illinois politicians. An ideal progressive would be a staunch pacifist who wholeheartedly embraces equal rights and reverence for life. Such a person would be pro-life and support human rights, civil rights, minorities' rights, women's rights, gay rights, violent crime victims' rights, animal rights, income equality, humane vegetarianism, environmental conservation and wildlife preservation.
