Jacobs 55, Palatine 46: Jacobs made it 2-0 to start the season, using a big 30-point night from senior Jessica Powell to win this Dundee-Crown tournament game.
Cary-Grove 62, Johnsburg 31: Katie Barker scored 20 points and Chrissy Sopchyk added 12, all on 3-pointers, as the Trojans opened their season with a win in the Lake Zurich tournament. Freshman Abby Getka added 10 points for Cary-Grove.
Elgin 50, Woodlands Academy 24: Abby Pierre-Louis scored 15 points to lead the Maroons (1-1) to a win in the opening round of the Elgin Academy tournament.
Alden-Hebron 52, Elgin Academy 27: Madeline Sporina had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals to lead the Hilltoppers' in their season-opening loss at their own Thanksgiving tournament.
