Route 59 crash in Hoffman Estates sends one to hospital

A multivehicle crash at Route 59 and Golf Road in Hoffman Estates sent one person to the hospital early Tuesday, fire officials said.

Paramedics were called to the crash about 6:38 a.m. One person was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates and another signed a medical release at the scene, Hoffman Estates Fire Chief Jeffrey Jorian said. Their ages and genders were not immediately known.

Police have reopened north Route 59 to traffic and are investigating what caused the crash.
