Blue Christmas service for those suffering during the holidays

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, Redeemer Fellowship in St. Charles is hosting a special service for those who find the holidays painful, rather than pleasant.

"Blue Christmas" is a service for anyone who is feeling down or hurting this winter.

Lead Pastor Joe Thorn said, "There are many people grieving, confused, and suffering during this time of year, and they can't simply paint on a happy face and pretend it's the most wonderful time of the year. We want to serve those people, and provide them an opportunity to grieve, remember, and search for hope."

Blue Christmas will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the church, 1125 W. Oak. St. in St. Charles.

About Redeemer Fellowship: Redeemer Fellowship is a vibrant, growing, multigenerational church. Since its beginning in 2007, they have planted two other churches in DeKalb and Evanston, and are now planting their third church in Naperville.
