Social Security paying the wrong people
When I heard suspected Nazi war criminals were receiving millions in Social Security payments, I was very angry. I retired from teaching almost 15 years ago, and when I applied for Social Security, I sacrificed 25 percent for taking it early. The government took 55 percent of what was left leaving me with 45 percent.
I asked why that happened and was told that I wouldn't be allowed to collect a pension and Social Security, which was classified a windfall profit for me and wasn't allowed.
I fail to see how that's a windfall profit. Over my working years, I had to pay into both Social Security and into teacher retirement or not work. Anyone collecting Social Security is aware that one cannot live on it alone. I am asking the government to discontinue paying the Nazis and reinstate my full Social Security benefit.
