Kaneland High to stage murder mystery
The Kaneland High School Theatre Department and director Christina Staker will present "The Butler Did It," a murder-mystery comedy that spoofs English mystery plays with an American twist.
The story takes place during present day at Ravenswood Manor, an isolated estate on Turkey Island off the coast of San Francisco. Miss Maple, a society dowager known for her creative weekend parties, invites a group of detective writers to the manor for a mystery-filled weekend.
Each writer is required to assume the personalities of their fictional characters and participate in a series of mysterious incidents created by Miss Maple. However, when a real murder occurs, these fictional sleuths must attempt to solve the crime.
Cast members include Rachel Miller, Taylor Tindall, Anna Hayman, Dillon Lynn, Jarod Kovach, Johnny Heuman, Ryan Mitchell, James Tockstein, Nicole DiSandro, Sabrina Massa, Betsy Mills, Aimee Frost, Grayson Bilskey, Phil Rawers, Jack Lasater, Mason Jendruczek, Amy Frost, Patrick Murphy and Caitlyn Rawers.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15; 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, including an understudy performance; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Kaneland High School, 47W326 Keslinger Road in Maple Park.
