Schaumburg man charged with stabbing acquaintance

A 27-year-old Schaumburg man has been charged with aggravated battery after stabbing an acquaintance with a pocket knife early Thursday morning during a fight over what had been perceived as a personal insult, police said.

Jeremy Walsh, 27, of the 1400 block of Dixie Court was charged in the stabbing that occurred at his residence around 5 a.m. Thursday, Schaumburg police Lt. Shawn Green said.

The 20-year-old victim from elsewhere in Schaumburg had been visiting Walsh with some other friends at the time, Green said. The victim was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day.

Walsh was in bond court Friday morning at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, where his bond was set at $75,000. His next court date is scheduled for Dec. 3.
