MPCC raises over $700 in an hour for Camp Out From Cancer
MPCC, the Mt. Prospect Cheerleading Club, has a history of raising money and awareness for important causes. This year the club wanted to give their effort towards a cause that centered around children.
Camp Out From Cancer is a local organization that began after the founder's battle with brain cancer. Only 8 years old, Isaac went through what many children battling cancer endure while staying extensively at a hospital. He and his family began Camp Out From Cancer to provide camping gear (tents, flashlights, etc.) to children like Issac so they can feel "outside" of their immediate environment.
Saturday, October 25th, MPCC had their annual Cheer Off. It was during this event that over $700.00 was raised in only an hour's time. Local resident and COFC board member Dana Foley was in attendance to receive the club's donation. "There's nothing greater than kids helping kids," is what Ms. Foley expressed after taking a group photo of the cheerleaders in attendance.
