Officer suspected of sharing stolen nude photos

MARTINEZ, Calif. Authorities say a California Highway Patrol officer suspected of stealing nude and racy photos from the cellphones of women arrested on drunken driving charges sent those photos to at least two fellow officers.

The Contra Costa Times reported Friday that the officer confessed to investigators in what he and other officers called a game.

Investigators say he sent photos to fellow officers in Dublin, but learned it working in Los Angeles, and confessed to doing this half a dozen times over several years.

CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow says his agency has launched an investigation, adding that the allegations anger and disgust him.

Contra Costa County prosecutors are considering criminal charges.

Attempts by The Associated Press to reach the man and two other officers under investigation were unsuccessful.
