Tom Morrison is doing good work for us
Living in the 54th (House) District has good and bad points. When I see my neighbors on the block or at the store we often talk about what's bothering each of us. My neighbors are concerned with ever-rising taxes, low housing prices, jobs getting harder to find, and that lack of common sense in Springfield.
Believe me, the neighborhood is made up of some very frustrated people.
There is a consensus though. The majority of people in my neighborhood have met our state representative, Tom Morrison. Each neighbor has something positive to say about Tom. That in itself in this day and age is astonishing. This moved me to write this note.
Tom Morrison is trying to begin to unravel the pension mess in Springfield through his support of HB3033. Another neighbor brought to my attention that Tom is in favor of rolling back taxes. Overall the impression I got in this neighborhood is that people feel that Tom is representing them.
To have anyone say anything positive about any politician is real odd. Personally, I am fed up with Springfield. Just the politicians who want to raise taxes (like we don't already pay enough) get me upset.
Some people write letters to the editor to voice one opinion or another. Not me. I am writing because I find this whole situation amazing. I have met Tom. I know that he is sincere. But to impress my neighbors when so many are worried and frustrated gives me a hint of hope.
Since I choose to live in Illinois I am pleased that Tom is my state representative. The conclusion: My neighbors think that we need more common folk representing us in Springfield.
