'Steppin 0ut for Kids':

Tickets are still available for "Steppin' Out for Kids," CYN Counseling Center's annual dinner dance, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Maravela's, 4 Washington St., Fox Lake. The dance runs from 6 to 11 p.m. U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk will attend and introduce guest speaker, Erin Merryn, the force behind Erin's Law, which requires public schools to teach children an age-appropriate sexual abuse prevention curriculum. CYN Counseling Center, based in Grayslake, is a local nonprofit community counseling agency that serves Lake County and surrounding areas. Annually, CYN assists more than 800 children, families and individuals. The agency mission is "to preserve and strengthen families while protecting children from abusive and high-risk situations."
