Hanover Park man found stabbed to death in Westmont

A 25-year-old Hanover Park man found dead inside a Westmont apartment early Friday was apparently stabbed, police said.

Officers found Roy Feltson Jr. inside a third-floor apartment on the 6700 block of Lake Shore Drive after receiving a 911 call about 2:15 a.m.

Feltson was pronounced dead at the scene, Westmont police said.

"I want to assure the residents of our community, our investigation indicates this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to our citizens or residents of the community," Police Chief Thomas Mulhearn said in a statement. "This was not a random act, and was directed specifically toward the victim."

The DuPage County coroner's office, DuPage County sheriff's office and DuPage County state's attorney's office are helping police with the investigation.
