Douglas Automotive harnesses takes part in polo match

Doug and Janet McAllister, owners of Douglas Automotive, and members of their team attended the 10th annual LeCompte/Kalaway Trail Owners Cup in Barrington Hills Saturday, Sept. 13.

Organized by the Riding Club of Barrington Hills and the Barrington Hills Polo Club, the 2014 Kalaway Cup featured five sponsored horse polo teams who competed in two matches. Hundreds of event attendees enjoyed live play and family-friendly activities.

Proud to be a part of the Barrington community, this is the third year the McAllisters and the Douglas Automotive team have participated in the Kalaway Cup. This year's event was especially successful, as the team partnered with Crystal Lake-based Countryside Flower Shop and Garden Center and McHenry-based 31 North Banquets and Catering to make the event memorable for their guests.

The Douglas Automotive tent was complete with mums, donated by Countryside, and sandwiches, desserts and other lunchtime favorites catered by 31 North.

"This is a really fun way to connect with local business owners and community members from Barrington and the surrounding cities," McAllister said. "We're proud to be a part of the action."

The Douglas team looks forward to next year's Kalaway Cup tournament.
