Wauconda mayor seeks village board applicants

Wauconda Mayor Frank Bart is accepting applications for a seat on the village board that opened recently when Trustee Teri Burke resigned.

Applicants can send Bart an email with resumes and letters explaining their interest in the post and how they can help the community. Reach Bart at fbart@wauconda-il.gov.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 19. It's up to Bart to recommend a nominee. The village board votes on the appointment.

Burke resigned unexpectedly last week, writing in an email, "It is with mixed emotions that I have made the difficult decision to step down as trustee." She did not offer a reason for her decision, and did not respond to interview requests.
