Schaumburg holds Citizen Police Academy this fall

The Schaumburg Police Department is accepting applications through Oct. 1 for the 34th session of its Citizen Police Academy.

The upcoming session starts Oct. 8 and runs for 10 weeks, ending on Dec. 17. The academy is held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evenings at the police station, 1000 W. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

Class members will be given the opportunity to participate in a patrol ride-along, firearms training on the range, practice mock traffic stops and visit the 9-1-1 central dispatch center.
