Enjoy fresh produce from the Schaumburg Park District

Visitors will enjoy the bounty of Spring Valley's Kid's Garden.

The Harvest Garden Party will provide patrons with a fresh vegetable snack from the Kid's Garden 10 a.m.-noon, Sept. 13 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The garden features tomatoes, carrots, squash, green beans, kale and more.

"Many people are interested in gardens, but don't get to explore or eat from them," said Amanda Anderson, Spring Valley environmental educator assistant. We hope families can come out and share the harvest with us."

Participants will learn about soil, flowers, fruits and veggies. The day will conclude with garden games and snacks.

This class is for ages 5 and older. Cost is $12 for residents and $18 for non-residents. Fee is per family of four. Extra members pay at the door; cost is $3 for residents and $4 for non-residents.
