Choose only one to blame

Ronald Bearwald's Aug. 26 letter ("When will president work for us?") does pose some interesting points. Everyone in U.S. government does ultimately "work for the president" one way or the other. Please read the Constitution. Failing that, watch TV or read the newspaper.

If it is a "we," as the writer suggests, does that mean that the president, whether a Democrat or Republican, is not to blame when things go wrong? The next time you disagree with the U.S. government please invoke that "we." Go blame your next-door neighbors. According to your logic, choose one of the above. Sorry but you cannot have it both

ways.
