Bumps, ruts and potholes, oh my
It is quite obvious in Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect that the last bad winter and the plows have torn up the local streets and highways.
The bumps and ruts and potholes on Central Road from about Fernandez to the entrance to the Wellness Center of Northwest Community Hospital do nothing to enhance the new and gleaming outside of the hospital.
Ambulances and their unfortunate passengers, as well as work traffic and many Wellness Center users, experience the auto frame rattling, brake rattling and body and brain rattling effects of the greatly used road, not to mention the poor image of the newer aspect of the hospital on its gleaming south side.
The Daily Herald would do well to draw the attention of the municipal roads and public works division to spruce up this badly neglected road section to reflect the new hospital addition.
I have driven this poor road for many years, 1965 to present, from my office and home in Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect. New concrete would be wonderful and at the least, new asphalt would be acceptable. Some sections of Kirchoff Road going to Rolling Meadows could also be helped with repair.
Some action is needed for this "country road" long neglected.
