Gay pride opposite of humble contrition
The Daily Herald reported a meeting at the Inverness Holy Family Catholic Church of a large crowd in support for the music director who was fired due to his gay engagement. One parishioner called the meeting, "Bigger than Christmas." How inappropriate to compare this gathering with that of the angels who announced Christ's birth.
Why the firing? It comes down to, "Does God exist or is the concept of God man-made?" If the former, then God made man, as the Bible claims. If the latter, then man made God. These are mutually exclusive statements.
If one believes that the God of the Bible exists, then one is compelled to accept what the Bible, his word, says about him. If one rejects the Bible in favor of fashioning a god concept that is personally palatable, one has crossed into the, "Man made God," camp.
Only through hermeneutic gymnastics can the gay lifestyle appear biblically acceptable. Gay pride is the opposite of humble contrition - the prerequisite to accepting Christ. If you can't accept this then you have left the church already - this is fundamental. Secularists protest to change the church. In Matthew 5:13 Jesus compares his followers to, "Salt," in that they are to flavor the world, not the other way around. He said about salt that loses its flavor, "It is to be trampled under foot."
Opposition to God's word isn't wise. You will find yourself on a collision course with the Almighty. Matthew 13:24 teaches about wheat and weeds and that those he considers to be wheat he will gather whilst the rest he will burn. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that it is destined that each person dies once and then comes judgment. Hebrews 10:31 says, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
