NFL not doing enough about domestic violence
I just read Barry Rozner's column today about domestic violence and the professional football player, Ray Rice, of the Baltimore Ravens, who was accused of "knocking out" his then-fiancee. The National Football League suspended Mr. Rice for two whole games. Here was a 220-pound man physically assaulting and abusing a woman, and the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, gives him a slap on the wrist.
Donald Sterling, the owner of the San Diego Clippers professional basketball team, was "banished for life" and fined $2.5 million dollars by the NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, for his racist "remarks." I'm in total agreement with his punishment.
It's my personal opinion that the NFL and all other professional leagues need to step up and fight domestic violence to women by banishing convicted players from their game. These professional athletes are no role model to the youth of our country.
