Federal prosecutors say Streamwood registered nurse who runs a service that sends doctors to patients' homes has been arrested on health care fraud charges.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago said Tuesday that 45-year-old Diana Jocelyn Gumila of Streamwood is charged with running a scheme to defraud Medicare.
The criminal complaint includes allegations of falsely certifying patients as being homebound, falsely increasing the level of services claimed and overscheduling and double-billing patient visits. She also allegedly billed for unnecessary tests.
Gumila manages Suburban Home Physicians, which has been doing business as Doctor At Home.
The FBI, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General, and other agencies searched Gumila's home, as well as Doctor At Home offices and an affiliated imaging business in Schaumburg.
