Rolling Green Country Club hosts 49th Annual Member-Guest Invitational

On July 18, 2014, Rolling Green Country Club kicked off their 49th Annual Member-Guest Invitational at their country club in Arlington Heights, IL. The two day tournament is the club's premier golfing event of the year.

Participating members sign up to compete in a two-some with a guest of their choice. Guests travel from all over the country to participate in the festivities. In addition to golfing in the tournament, participants enjoy fine dining, a pool party, and live music. The live music included a reggae band on Friday night and a rock band on Saturday night.

For this year's Invitational, fifty-nine teams of two were divided into ten flights, where they competed in five 9-hole shotgun matches. Each flight winner then competed in a "Horse Race" event to determine the overall Tournament Champions. As in years past, all participants in the Member-Guest Invitational received gift certificates to shop at a mobile pro shop set up by Taylormade-adidas Golf Company.

Participants also had four opportunities during the event to win a new car. A hole-in-one on Hole #7, would win the golfer a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, sponsored by Libertyville Chevrolet and a hole-in-one on Hole #17, would win the golfer a 2014 Hyundai Equus, sponsored by Happy Hyundai of Oak Lawn. Though no hole-in-ones occurred during the tournament this year, some participants came very close, within inches of a hole-in-one.

The weather for the event was ideal and the course conditions were outstanding. Course Superintendent Gary Schweber took extra care to ensure golfers enjoyed the course to its fullest.

On Saturday, Golfers' spouses joined them for an awards ceremony and a sensational seafood dinner provided by Executive Chef Jesse Quinonez. Hand-rolled sushi accompanied an Ahi Tuna carving station, along with fresh oysters, and more. Desserts included a mango sorbet with chili powder, mini milkshakes and a gourmet coffee station. Dinner was followed by dancing in the club's Oak Room.
