Zengeler Cleaners Announces Retirement of Two Long-Time Employees

Northbrook, IL, July 7, 2014: Two Zengeler Cleaners employees recently picked the same day to retire following a long career with the family-owned dry cleaner. Barbara Geske, Manager at Zengeler Cleaners' Peterson Road store, and Carol Hartnett both "called it a day" on Monday, June 30, after the two wrapped up a collective 30 years with the company, all at the same location. Their retirements were announced by Tom Zengeler, President of the Midwest's oldest and largest cleaners.

"Zengeler Cleaners extends a huge thanks to Barb Geske and Carol Hartnett for their years of dedicated service at our Libertyville store," said Zengeler. "Barb and Carol are two great examples of how familiar faces can help build customer loyalty. The Libertyville community has been very good to Zengeler Cleaners, due in large part to our many long-term employees at our Peterson Road location." Zengeler Cleaners also has a second Libertyville store, located on East Park Avenue.

Carol Hartnett joined Zengeler Cleaners in 1998, shortly after the Peterson Road store opened. She had previous experience in the dry cleaning business, having worked at Mundelein Cleaners before joining the Zengeler family. Barb Geske joined the Peterson Road team two years later, in May 2000, where she served as Manager for the past three years.

Zengeler Cleaners held a retirement celebration for Barb and Carol on Tuesday, July 1st, at Jimmy's Char House in Libertyville. The retirees' co-workers joined in the festivities, exchanging stories and fond memories of working together for so many years. The evening was capped off with a presentation by Tom Zengeler, along with Certificates of Appreciation for the long-term employees.
