Algonquin crash leaves car on its side; no injuries reported
Apart from minor cuts and bruises, no injuries were reported in a two-car wreck near the intersection of Algonquin and Pyott roads in Algonquin Sunday night that left one car on its side.
Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski of the Lake In The Hills Police Department said a green 2014 Chevrolet hatchback traveling east on Algonquin Road was making a left turn onto northbound Pyott road when it collided with a gray 2001 Daewoo four-door sedan.
The collision made the Chevrolet spin and roll onto the driver's side.
Algonquin-Lake In The Hills Firefighters were able to get extract the people in the Chevrolet through the passenger's side door without having to use the Jaws of Life, Ziarkowski said.
Ziarkowski said the driver of the Chevrolet is a female minor and the Daewoo was driven by Bianca Mazari, 18, of Carpentersville.
Mazari and the two passengers in the Daewoo, who were minors, were also able to be extracted without too much trouble.
Ziarkowski said paramedics at the scene treated any minor cuts and bruises suffered by those involved in the crash and they were released.
Both cars sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
The wreck restricted traffic in the area for about an hour Sunday night.
No charges have been filed pending investigation from the Lake In The Hills Police Department.
