Lincolnshire celebrates with a party in the park
Boys lined up along the street eating snow cones and ice cream to watch classic cars arrive at Lincolnshire's Red, White & Boom celebration Thursday night.
Families packed the park on the first day of the annual Lincolnshire Community Association festival at Spring Lake Park for games, food, rides and live entertainment.
"The crowds are tremendous. The weather is perfect and there is lots of enthusiasm," said Bob Gregory, team captain of the community association. "Everyone is excited about the adult mechanical bull-riding contest tonight. The cardboard boat regatta and the pie-eating contest tomorrow is high on the list."
Friday also will feature the Rotary pancake breakfast, a 5K run/walk, a parade and the Latin rock band Almost Joe. The event culminates in Lincolnshire's Spectacular Fireworks Display at 9:30 p.m.
