Former Bull Brunson charged with attempted sexual assault
Former Bulls player and coach Rick Brunson has been charged with the attempted sexual assault of an employee of a Vernon Hills fitness center.
Vernon Hills police said the 42-year-old Brunson was charged June 25 with attempted criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery. The charges were filed after Brunson was alleged to have grabbed an employee of Lifetime Fitness. His bond was set at $5,000. However, a court date hasn't been announced.
Brunson played for eight NBA teams from 1997 to 2006. He's been an assistant coach for several college and pro teams. He hasn't responded to telephone calls.
Lifetime Fitness spokesman Jason Thunstrom said the company is cooperating with authorities and conducting an internal investigation.
