Off-duty officer kills gunman at E. Peoria bar
EAST PEORIA - Authorities in East Peoria say three people are dead after a gunman shot two people at an East Peoria sports bar before he was shot and killed by an off-duty law-enforcement officer.
The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that that the gunman walked into The Fifth Quarter bar Saturday night and shot two people who were attending a high school reunion before he was shot and killed by the officer.
The gunman's victims were 33-year-old Lori A. Moore of Morton, who died at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center after being shot in the head, and a 36-year-old Peoria man whose name was not immediately released pending notification of family.
Police did not immediately identify the gunman, and would not identify the off-duty officer or where the officer worked.
