Mount Prospect man pleads guilty to child sexual assault
A Mount Prospect man was sentenced to a total of 23 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl last year, court records show.
Jorge Caporal, 30, received a 20-year sentence Tuesday in exchange for pleading guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault. Caporal also pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse, for which he received a three-year sentence, according to court records.
The judge ordered the sentences served consecutively, prosecutors said.
Caporal was also ordered to pay $1,689 in fines.
Prosecutors say relatives became concerned when the victim began acting in an overtly sexual manner toward other family members. Her statements led police to Caporal, prosecutors said during his bond hearing last year.
Caporal, who has no criminal background, received credit for 395 days in custody.
He must complete at least 85 percent of the sentence before he is eligible for parole.
