Bargain-hunting tradition returns to Schaumburg

A 45-year bargain-hunting tradition returns to Schaumburg this weekend when the Timbercrest and Woods subdivisions hold their annual three-day garage sale Friday through Sunday.

Dozens of homes will be taking part in the sale, several of them hosting sales from multiple families. The sale will feature not only typical garage sale staples - clothes, toys, golf clubs, electronics, etc. - but more unusual items ranging from antiques and racing tires to a whirlpool tub and a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer.

"There are very few opportunities to see between 100 and 160 garage sales in one day, making the Timbercrest-Woods Garage Sale one of the largest and most popular neighborhood garage sales in the United States!" according to the sale's website.

The sale opens at 9 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The subdivisions are located south of Schaumburg Road, west of Roselle Road and north of Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg.
