Free vacation Bible school offered in West Dundee

Dundee, IL - Who says, nothing in life is free? Not true at the First United Methodist Church of Dundee.

"I actually started to cry," said vacation Bible school director Cris Nilson when she learned that finances were so tight they might not be able to provide VBS this summer.

However, a kind benefactor with a generous heart pledged to fund the entire cost for the program with the condition that no child should be turned away because they couldn't pay.

So now First United Methodist Church of Dundee will open their hearts and their doors wide to the first 40 children who come to experience Jesus' One-of-a-kind love at their "Weird Animals" VBS.

Each participant will receive Bible memory buddies, yummy treats, a T-shirt and more. Additionally, the kids will join an international mission effort to share God's love by providing water for schoolchildren in India.

"Weird Animals" VBS is for kids from kindergarten to sixth grade. It will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, at First United Methodist Church, 310 W. Main St. in West Dundee.
