Boy Scout Troop 13 remembers, honors and celebrates
St. Charles Bethlehem Lutheran Church's Troop 13 spent the Memorial Day weekend remembering, honoring, and celebrating those who have served our country and honoring one of their own.
On Saturday, Troop 13 remembered those who served our country by placing American flags on the graves of veterans at the Union Cemetery. Troop 13 was one of several area Boy Scout Troops who places the flags on veteran's graves.
On Sunday, Troop 13 honored one of their own during a special Court of Honor in which he received the highest rank a Boy Scout can earn. He became an Eagle Scout.
On Monday, Troop 13 celebrated those who served our country in two different ways.
First, by visiting the three area St. Charles cemeteries where they participated in the raising of the American flag.
After the flag was raised, there was a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps on by buglers.
Afterward, they marched in Memorial Day parade through downtown St. Charles.
