Volkening Heritage Farm to host inaugural Country Fair

Test your pea shelling and wheat bundle tossing skills during the Country Fair at the Schaumburg Park District's Volkening Heritage Farm.

Participants will get a taste of a 19th century community farm fair from noon-4 p.m., Sunday, June 1, while they visit the livestock and domestic art tents to find out who won blue ribbons and watch as the latest hay mowers and other farm equipment are demonstrated.

Visitors will then participate in the wheat bundles toss, pea shelling competition, or try to win a treat at the cake walk. This recreated historic event will include food, music and more.

Cost is $3 per person or $12 per family; free for children ages 3 and younger.
