Quenneville compares this team to 2 Cup-winning squads

It's a logical question when you've won two Stanley Cups in four years and are trying to make it three in five over the next month or so:

How do the previous two Cup-winning teams compare with this year's version?

"We had a real young team in 2010," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "You look back and all these guys, the core guys, they were just young guys and young players.

"I think getting to the conference finals the prior year against Detroit was a really good education for us. That was a heck of a team in 2010."

And then there was last season's Cup winners.

"Last year was obviously a tremendous year start to finish," Quenneville said. "Team-wise, the balance and consistency was in the right place.

"Now, here we are, the difference is we got a proven goalie that has won a Cup. Very comparable team as far as your lines and the makeup. The core is still in place in all three years.

"I think it's complimentary to the core guys who have led the charge. Everything seems to follow based on their production and their commitment to the team."

Trying not to think about it:

If you guessed that a Blackhawks-Canadiens Stanley Cup Final would be a dream come true for Montreal native Corey Crawford, you're probably not too far off.

"It's maybe snuck in a little bit," Crawford admitted. "I try and catch myself, not to think about that too much. That's where you can get in trouble, having your mind in a different spot than where it's supposed to be.

"Right now it's on Game 1 of the next series."

The Andrew Shaw update:

"Shawzie has not skated today," Joel Quenneville said, "so we expect him to skate this weekend."

He said it:

"I don't know (laughs). Maybe. I think crowds do that for any goalie. I think my name just works out I guess - it's like the perfect length and sound to say it."
