5 of the best Hawks' comebacks
As the Blackhawks prep for Game 5 today against the Wild, it's time for a quick reminder of what every Hawks fan should know: The Hawks have an insane ability to turn things around when it counts.
While they may have dropped two on the road, this team has proved time and again that you can't count them out. (Although Hawks' history is much longer, these comeback moments are limited to games from the last five years because we don't have that kind of time — much less sanity — on game day!)
To keep you in the right frame of mind ahead of the 8 p.m. puck drop, we bring you five of the Hawks' greatest comebacks:
Hawks vs. Calgary Flames 2009
Hawks manage to come back from an early 5-0 deficit and eke out six goals (the last in OT) for the win over the Calgary Flames.
Hawks vs. Predators
Game 5 Stanley cup Playoffs OT win against Predators. Hawks blew an early lead and still managed to eke out a tie in regulation and then snag the win in OT with a 5-4 win.
Hawks v. Kings
Hawks took a 2-0 lead but couldn't hang on for the win in regulation. Instead with about 8:20 left in double OT, it would be Patrick Kane to pull out the win and finish off his hat trick and eliminate the Kings in Game 5.
Hawks vs. Flyers Game 6 of Stanley Cup in 2010.
The Hawks were first on the board but ended up going to OT against the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup finals. While Kaner celebrated, the Flyers were trying to figure out what exactly just happened.
Hawks vs. Bruins
And who can forget the one that mattered? Hawks down 2-1 against the Bruins and they manage to pull out two goals within 17 seconds in the last minute of the game to clinch the cup. (For the record there were 58 seconds left on the clock after the Bickell and Bolland goals.)
And let's hope the Wild have as much reason to say #8220;I hate this song#8221; as the Canucks did:
