Man, 68, dead in 2-vehicle crash near Elburn

A 68-year-old Elburn man was killed in a head-on crash about 7:30 a.m. Monday east of Elburn, Kane County authorities said.

Keslinger Road was closed between Harley and Denali roads until about 10:30 a.m. while Kane County sheriff's authorities investigated.

The crash killed Burton Brown Jr., according to the Kane County coroner's office.

A black 2002 Toyota Camry headed east on Keslinger crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a 2000 Chevy van that was going west, the sheriff's office said.

The Camry driver, later identified as Brown, was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva and pronounced dead; the driver of the Chevy van was treated and released at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, authorities said.
