Group gathers on Monday to play harmonica

The Harmelodian Club might sound like a made up name, but it fills the Adult Activity Center at Pottawatomie Community Center with real sound every Monday.
The group has a core of eight members, and sometimes as many as 15, who get together every Monday for a little social time and a lot of harmonica playing. The group was started five years ago and players of all skill level are welcome.
"It's fun, aside from trying to learn music," Ken Wallace of Elgin said with a laugh. "I played from when I was 12 until about 17 and then gave it up when I discovered girls."
Now mostly retired, he took it up again about six years ago.
Weekly meetings start at 10 a.m. They play for about an hour then break out homemade pastries and coffee.

Ryan is home schooled and his grandmother brings him down once a week for the meeting so he can learn along with the group. They're both from St. Charles.
