Irish Fest is Saturday in Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect is holding its third Irish Fest from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 12. The celebration will be held in a huge heated tent with Irish music, food and beer.

The tent will be in the Chase Bank parking lot at the corner of Emerson Street and Busse Avenue. The location is one block north of Northwest Highway and one block east of Elmhurst Road, and one block from the Mount Prospect Metra stop. Free parking is available across the street in the village hall parking deck.

The music schedule is:

• 2 to 2:30 p.m. Sullivan Irish Dancers

• 2:30 to 3 p.m. Trinity Irish Dancers

• 3:30 to 5 p.m. The Dooley Brothers

• 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. They Might Be Irish

• 8 to 11 p.m. Larkin and Moran Brothers

Food vendors include Olympus Gyros with fish and chips, Mount Prospect Firefighter's Union Local 4119 with hamburgers and hot dogs, and Harrington's with corned beef sandwiches. The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce will be selling Irish beer and other beverages.

Several vendors will be selling Irish "swag," including Paddy's on the Square, Galway Bakers, Completely Nuts and the Mount Prospect Junior Women's Club.
