Loyola Opens Immediate Care Center in Park Ridge
Loyola University Health System is expanding care to its neighbors in Park Ridge by opening an Immediate Care Center at the Loyola Center for Health at Park Ridge, located at 1030 W. Higgins Road.
Opening on April 1, 2014, the Immediate Care Center will offer residents access to academic-based medicine and the expertise of Loyola's patient-care team on a walk-in basis, with no appointments necessary. It will be open during hours when many physicians' offices are closed.
The Loyola Center for Health at Park Ridge Immediate Care Center is open every day, except Christmas Day. Hours are Monday-Friday 8 am - 8 pm and Saturday, Sunday and holidays 8 am - 3 pm.
"Loyola already is an established member of the Park Ridge community and we are excited to continue to help meet the health needs of our neighbors by offering immediate care services," said Beatrice Probst, MD, director of the Loyola Immediate Care Network.
Loyola's newest immediate care center will provide Park Ridge residents as well as neighboring communities a medical option when dealing with a condition or illness that doesn't warrant emergency care, but does require prompt medical attention. Loyola's immediate care physicians are part of the Loyola network, which gives patients access to leading-edge research and technology and physician leaders in primary and specialty care.
"Providing outstanding medical care while understanding that a person is more than an illness is paramount to our medical care team. Our desire is to bring compassionate care with the backing of academic medicine to everyone who walks in the door of our immediate care clinic," Probst said.
Immediate care is different from emergency care. Immediate care doctors can take care of acute illnesses such as strep throat or flu as well as address injuries such as a small laceration or broken bones. The Park Ridge location has diagnostic services on-site, such as a laboratory, X-ray and cardiac diagnostic testing to assist with determining the best treatment.
