Service on the CTA Blue Line between O'Hare and Rosemont has been temporarily suspended due to a derailment that occurred shortly after 3 a.m. at O'Hare. Bus service is available to provide service between the two stops. Trains are only operating between Rosemont and Forest Park and service is expected to be suspended for several hours.
Round Lake girls still in hospital after plane crash
The 15-year-old daughter of a Round Lake man who was killed in a small plane crash, leaving her and her friend injured early Saturday morning near Tampa, Fla., remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition, a family friend said last night. Full story.
Ray Graham Association reopens Lombard community learning center
Longtime employees say there's no comparison between the new Ray Graham Association community learning center in Lombard and the old location just a few doors down. "It's like we went from living in an apartment to living in a house," said Gloria Hickey, a direct support professional who has worked at the center for 13 years. Buffalo Grove man's bracket is perfect no more
Dayton continued its Cinderella run Saturday night by beating Syracuse in the men's basketball NCAA tournament. Back in Buffalo Grove, the outcome of that game ended another Cinderella run, breaking a streak of 36 consecutive correct predictions by Brad Binder. Historic Wheeling restaurant demolished
Demolition of the iconic Don Roth's Blackhawk restaurant in Wheeling, which closed five years ago, began Friday. The restaurant, one of the original features on Wheeling's famed Restaurant Row, closed in 2009 after 40 years on Milwaukee Avenue just north of Dundee Road. The building was originally a farmhouse dating from the 1880s, and village officials said there was no way to save it. Full story.
Police say 19-year-old robbed woman at Algonquin Commons
Algonquin police arrested a 19-year-old man suspected of snatching a purse from a woman at the Algonquin Commons parking lot Saturday afternoon. Andy K. Lopez-Carbajal, whose last known address was in Woodstock, was charged with armed robbery, a class X felony, police said. Full story.

Predators frustrate Blackhawks again
Rarely has Joel Quenneville been as upset with a performance as he was after the Blackhawks dropped a 3-2 decision at home to Nashville on March 14, calling it one of the worst games he'd seen from his guys in quite awhile. A little more than a week later, once again it was an upset Quenneville who stepped to the podium at the United Center, but this time there was more disappointment than anger emanating from the coach after the Predators had struck again, blanking the Hawks 2-0. Sox cut Davidson, Jordan Danks
The White Sox roster is a little lighter this morning. With the March 31 season opener against the Minnesota Twins at U.S. Cellular Field drawing near, new third baseman Matt Davidson and outfielder Jordan Danks were optioned to Class AAA Charlotte. Acquired in a Dec. 16 trade from the Diamondbacks for closer Addison Reed, Davidson came into camp behind Conor Gillaspie, a left-handed hitter who is out of minor league options. Full story.
