Rolling Meadows honors runner-up girls basketball team
A second straight second-place finish led to a second straight recognition assembly for Rolling Meadows' girls basketball team on Monday in the school's main gym.
The Mustangs wrapped up their season 29-5 after a 60-44 loss to Whitney Young in Saturday's Class 4A state championship game at Redbird Arena in Normal.
Rolling Meadows, led by seniors Jackie Kemph, Alexis Glasgow, Jenny Vliet and Ashley Montanez, became the first team in the history of the Mid-Suburban League to appear in a girls basketball championship game more than once.
As part of Monday's festivities, the team's captains presented the runner-up trophy to Rolling Meadows administrators for a spot in the school's trophy case.
