New principal at Lake Zurich's Isaac Fox Elementary School
Lisa Gregoire has been hired to take over as principal in July at Isaac Fox Elementary School in Lake Zurich.
Lake Zurich Unit District 95 board members voted 6-0 in favor of hiring Gregoire at a meeting last week. She'll replace the retiring Jill Brooks, who has been Isaac Fox's principal for the past 10 years.
District 95 Superintendent Michael Egan praised Brooks' tenure at Isaac Fox, while looking forward to Gregoire's start.
"Jill has set the bar very high," Egan said. "I'm confident Lisa possess the drive and skills to continue the tradition of excellence at Isaac Fox Elementary School."
District 95 board member Kathy Brown also had kind words for Brooks' work at Isaac Fox.
"Everybody knows what a wonderful, wonderful school it is," Brown said.
Gregoire, 47, is assistant principal at North Elementary School in Crystal Lake. She'll finish the academic season at the Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 school, then join Lake Zurich in July.
Her resume includes teaching fourth-grade mathematics, science and language arts at schools in Houston, Dallas and Garland, Texas. She also worked as an assistant principal in Houston.
District 95 board member Doug Goldberg said there was deep pool of candidates for the Isaac Fox job. He added it's a "double bonus" that Gregoire is a District 95 resident.
Isaac Fox, on Cuba Road in southwestern Lake Zurich, serves kindergarten through fifth grade. It had 544 students in the 2012-13 academic year, according to the current Illinois State Board of Education report card.
