Starbucks, Subway on move in Mount Prospect

A Starbucks will open in a new location in Mount Prospect next week. The national coffee retailer will open Thursday, Feb. 20, in the "Shops and Lofts" building at Northwest Highway and Emerson Street, in the heart of Mount Prospect's downtown.

Starbucks is relocating there from a shopping center at Northwest Highway and Wille Street, just a few blocks west. It will now occupy a spot left vacant when Caribou Coffee closed last year.

Subway also is relocating to the Shops and Lofts building from the Northwest Highway/Wille center; its new store is expected to open in early March. Village officials say they've received inquiries about the spaces that Starbucks and Subway have vacated.
