Theater events: Get cozy at Steel Beam's Valentine cabaret
Love is in the air
Pascale M. Trouillot, Sister Hubert in Steel Beam Theatre's recent production of “Nuncrackers,” returns to the theater to perform for a Valentine cabaret titled “On My Way to You.” She's accompanied by pianist Richard Trost of South Elgin, drummer Nick Anderson of Buffalo Grove and bassist John Summers of Schaumburg.

Mediocrity's curse
Near the end of his life, the refined, pious Antonio Salieri recounts his rivalry with his contemporary, the uncouth, blasphemous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in “Amadeus.” Bohemian Theatre Ensemble's revival is directed by Peter Marston Sullivan and stars Steve O'Connell and Chris Ballou.

Garage Rep
Steppenwolf Theatre's fifth annual Garage Rep showcasing Chicago's storefront theaters begins Friday. The New Colony, past recipient of Broadway in Chicago's emerging theater award, presents “reWILDing Genius” by Andrew Hobgood and Megan Johns. Prologue Theatre, which focuses on women, minorities and the LGBTQ community, presents Katori Hall's “Saturday Night/Sunday Morning.” And Walkabout Theater Company, which specializes in experimental and site-specific works, presents Thom Pasculli's “The Wild.”
