Niche’s new beer
Brewmasters from Pipeworks Brewing Company in Chicago blended beer with the flavors of Niche’s barrel-aged bourbon cocktail, Jesco, to create a new beer called Elijah’s Revival Wheat Wine Ale, a barley wine style of beer with orange and spices. The new beer is only served at Niche and select liquor stores in the Chicago area. Try it at Niche in 22-ounce bottles for $18 or 12-ounce pours for $10.
Niche Restaurant, 14 S. Third St., Geneva. (630) 262-1000 or nichegeneva.com.
RA’s critics
Play critic to the critics at RA Sushi’s Foodies Show Heart charity sushi-making competition from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9. Judge away with a beer, wine or signature cocktail ranging $3 to $6 while food bloggers and editors — including Daily Herald Food Editor Deborah Pankey — create unique sushi rolls. The winning roll makes the menu throughout March.
RA Sushi, 310 Yorktown Center, Lombard. (630) 627-6800 or rasushi.com.
